Native American Cloth

Woo. 2 posts in day.

Because Azman keeps bugging me to post more regularly, I'm posting up an old piece I did way back when I was a slave for the corporate entity (2 years ago).  There was a reference for this lying somewhere in my hard drive and floating around somewhere in the WWW, can't find it now, though. I'll post it up if I ever come across it again. Secretly done in my cubicle with Corel Painter.

Was trying out Alchemy, a freeware that helps you generate random shapes and stuff. Try it out it's fun to see what you can get. So anyways, started off with this doodle with the Alchemy:

Yeah, it's just a bunch of blots and squares. Painted over it in Photoshop, though, and ended up with this:
Finished. For now, at least. Might go back and re-do the head dress.

Sculptris Part II

Continued where I stopped a cuppla days ago. Spent an hour or two with the face details, did a bit of the upper torso and decided to stop there. Painted this in the wee hours of Friday. Didn't really spend a lot of time on it so I never really get to fully work around with Sculptris' paint tool. Applied Normal material to it and I thought the skin colour and feel kinda stand out. I prefer the unpainted version somehow. But a bit of a critique would be nice. Cheers.

Sculptris Part I

A quick doodle with Sculptris just before I hurried home yesterday.

Pixologic programmer Tomas Pettersson did a kick-ass job on creating this freeware (yeap, it's free). Try it. It's awesome!

Get the installer here. Scroll down the thread. There should be a link.

Graawwwrrgghh... Grawwrrgghhh.... Aaarrrgghhh....

Fat Wolverine running mad like Stallone in The Expendables. Done with Paint Tool Sai.

Did the sketch when I was bored. I like it better somehow. More dynamic maybe. The painted one looks like he's off looking for a crapper.

Aku Taming Sari

The rest of the artwork I put on display at the Sama-Sama Guesthouse Mini Alternative Art Festival 2010 in Malacca. The second rendition of Jebat tops my favourite chart among the four. Nothing biggy. I thought it was a good exercise to improve my illustration style.

Overall it was a great experience. An eye-opener. Sama-Sama 2010 was a kick-ass event. We'll be there if there's a second one coming around. Here's the event report by Clifford Narcis (Totipero).

Mind Heist~

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

INCEPTION, and it was truly an inception. Pure idea and cleverly genius story. The storyline wasn't the focus for me, but the idea behind it... This is a movie that make me go...."yeah, I know that feeling..." It's every situation that you have ever been dream of, yet interpreted in the movie with more detail.
I came across to this one video in youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVkQ0C4qDvM) about Inception music theme- "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey. camiam321(the person who posted this video) made a comparison between Zack Hemsey's "Mind Heist" and "Non, je je regrette rien" by Edith Piaf (in slow motion). It was totally neat... (for me).. Is it a coincident that those two music are similar or is it the same music? I don't really know...

Here is what I noticed about "Mind Heist".
The melody keep buzzing into my mind.. That rough buzzing echo... Maybe that's what you call mind heist. Or is it an idea that the music is trying to give us?

Aku Taming Sari: Hang Jebat

A bit of a preview for the Sama-Sama 2010 exhibition. Will post the rest after the exhibition ends.
Hmmm... left arm too long and big-ish. Considering that it's a 3-hour paint, I'm somewhat satisfied with the end result.
